This is is not the first time I’ve been able to save a project due to having access to my entire image library at a moments notice. I chose the original, did some minor tweaking to the file, sent the new image off to my Assitant who had gone home for Christmas and she replaced the image in question with the new image, all within 30 minutes of finding the problem we had.

With a database that large it only holds thumbnails but Mylio will allow me to download a Preview or even the oringal. I was able to find a new image on my iPhone running Mylio which holds my entire 1.2 Million image database.

I had left my MacBook Pro and iPad at home with nothing on the road other than my iPhone. We had just designed and scheduled an email that was being sent out to our 3000 person client list the following morning when we came to realize an image we had chose needed to be pulled and replaced from the scheduled email. Two nights ago my wife and I left town for a short visit with friends a three hour drive away. One of the greatest features of Mylio is being able to get at my originals anytime, anywheer, on any device. I too was an avid Aperture fan before Apple killed it. I’ve been using it for almost five years now. Take a look at the following Wikipedia article: In digiKam the Aperture "smart album" was identifiable with a specific sequence of "tags".

So all the people I had identified plus smart album information was saved. This app also preserved the keywords that I used in Aperture. I used the Aperture Exporter app to move the originals and versions from Aperture to a new archival area. So I can create searches, albums or "smart albums" based on search criteria. digiKam takes this one step further and allows me to have hierarchical tags, e.g. Not only can I view images chronologically ("time-line"), but also by using "tags" ("keywords"), which I have used extensively with Aperture. I have 20 years of digital images plus 50+ year-old 35 ㎜ and 6圆 ㎝ slides that I have scanned, plus prints handed down from my parents, which have also been scanned.ĭigiKam allows me to change the embedded Metadata so that these older "images" can be manipulated just like the digital images I take today.

I have settled on digiKam because it it was the most customizable for my purposes. In my search for a replacement of Aperture, I tried ACDSee Photo Studio, Adobe Bridge, Mylio, Lyn, and Capture One. I mainly use Aperture for DAM (digital asset management) and third-party apps for actually processing my photos.

You can easily access the photos offline, and on a variety of devices, too.I have been looking for an alternative to Aperture since it does not support the raw files from my Olympus E-M1 ii camera. Mylio is a fantastic photos organization application that will help you keep your photos and pictures organized in folders and safe and secure for the next time you use the app. This also helps you save storage since you’ll have your files organized, allowing you to take additional hundreds of photos. This will save you tons of time and make your organization much clearer and easier. If you’ve already done some folder organizing before, this app lets you import the folder structure from before and import it to other devices. You’re in total control of your photos, as you know exactly where the photos are stored and in which folder of your device. You’ll have great peace of mind knowing that all of your photos are stored somewhere safe and secure. If you have a camera or a phone, this app is brilliant because it will automatically organize all the photos you take with your camera or phone and set them into a library where all your photos are neatly organized. This app will work anywhere and without an internet connection. Wouldn’t it be much easier if your stuff was organized and compiled and just one spot? It lets you organize your collection of photos, videos, and documents and organize them in one direction. Mylio is an application that will help you organize all your files, such as photos, videos, and documents in just one library, allowing you to create a visual story of your life.ĭo you often spend looking for the photos that you know you took at one point? This is a very common story for phone users as well as computer users.
